Bachelor of Optometry (B. Optometry)
B. Optometry, also known as Bachelor of Optometry, is a specialized undergraduate degree program that focuses on the study of optometry, vision science, and eye care. It is designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to become optometrists or eye care professionals.
During the course of study, students learn about various aspects related to vision, eye health, and visual systems. They are trained in conducting comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosing vision problems, prescribing corrective lenses such as glasses or contact lenses, and providing non-surgical treatments for certain eye conditions.

Minimum eligibility qualification is 10+2 level of education in science stream, from a recognized educational board, for admission into the Diploma in Pharmacy [D.Pharm.] course in any college. A minimum aggregate score of 35% (Passing marks) at the 10+2 level is also necessary. The cut-off percentage of marks differs as per the University/College.
- Candidate Should be a citizen of India.
- Candidate must have passed or senior with at least 50% marks including English.
- The must be passed/Appearing with mathematics as a compulsory subject.
- The students are generally admitted on the basis of personal interview and written examination conducted by various institutes/universities.
- Some institutes/universities admit student on merit basis.
- The merit is prepared on the basis of candidate’s performance in the qualifying examination (12th).
